In today’s world it seems everyone wants to be different from who they are. If they are young they want to be older. If they are old they want to be younger. If they are short they want to be taller. If they are tall they want to be shorter. The list goes on and on. What if we lived in a world where people accepted themselves just the way they were? What if we started flaunting our flaws instead of hiding them? Where we don’t want to change who we are, but enjoy who we are.
“For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
Psalms 139:13
God is our creator. His Word says He “knit us together in our mother’s womb.” He took time to not just create our outward body, but also our “inmost being”. Inmost means deepest. That shows me He wasn’t careless with what He created. He was meticulous. If the Creator of this world spoke and it was made to perfection, just think of how amazing you are as He took the time to knit you. Maybe you look at yourself and don’t see perfection, but I believe He does.
It took me a long time to see myself as beautiful. Just as He created this amazing world, He also created me. It’s not what I see in the mirror that I find beautiful, it’s who I see. Who am I? I am a child made by Perfection. Yes, God is the definition of perfection. If Perfection created us, then who are we to say He made a mistake? After all, we are made in His image. So stop looking at all the things you are not and start reminding yourself of who you are.
“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Psalms 139:14
